Skitter Critter

Coffee table, 2022

Created in collaboration with Robert Craig

An Origin Story: In the rarely talked about Martian visit of 1913, a rather skittery bunch landed in Nuuk on the Southwestern tip of Greenland. Immediately adapting to their diet of clean ice and wondrously vapid topography, most of the landing party froze into the most harmonious of dreaming cocomatudes… All except for one—the skitterest critter of them all. Its natural need to explore kept him in the here and now. After a long and lusciously eventful subaquatic adventure through the Sea of Labrador, Skitter Critter landed on our continent and has been happily living amongst the smiley people of North America, only visible to those with a kind heart.
*Note to the proud new host of the Skitter Critter: At cocktail hour, please feed this rare and precious anomaly with two ice cubes daily. Preferably floating in some delicious beverages, blessed with a smile and shared with a friend.

Top: Big Leaf Maple thorax with astral epoxy resin.
Base: Sculpted golden thorax of Big Leaf Maple and black raptorial legs made of steel.

39”L x 30”W x 18”H
